The Minnesota Vikings could potentially be one of the teams rolling out a rookie quarterback this season, but head coach Mike Zimmer will only go with Teddy Bridgewater if he feels he is the best player on the team’s depth chart.

If Bridgewater shows some early rookie struggles during camp, the team will look in a different direction and that is something Bridgewater is perfectly fine with as he looks at the bigger picture and tries to help the team.

“It’s not tough at all because I have nothing but my best interest for the team,” Bridgewater said, via Master Tesfatsion of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. “And I’m very excited about this team that we have here.

“If I’m not the guy then I know the coaches have the best interest for the team also. My teammates also have the best interest for the team. So in order for me to be a better player, I have to have the best interest for the team and want nothing but the best interest for the team.”

Matt Cassel seems to be in line to earn the starting gig, so we may need to wait a little longer to see the former Louisville star out on the field.
